Registering for the Course and Discussion Forums

STEP 1: Sign up to access the Discussion Forums

The discussion forums require registration, and access to the course forums is limited to those enrolled in the course.  Please follow the registration instructions carefully.

1. Point your browser to http://hemi.nyu.edu/bb/phpBB2/
2. Click on the "Register" link.  (It is located in the group of links at the top of the page and has a checkbox icon next to it.)
3. On the Registration Agreement Terms page, click to agree to the terms.
4. On the next page, fill out all of the required information. Make sure to enter your first and last names in the "Real Name" field!  If you don't do so, you will not be given access to the course forum!
5. While your registration for the forum site in general will be active almost immediately, it will take a little while longer for you to be able to see the course forum. Within one or two weekdays after you register, you should see the forum listed at the top of the page under "Courses".
6. Once you have registered, you can go to http://hemi.nyu.edu/bb/phpBB2/ to view the course forum, or follow the link from the course website at http://hemi.nyu.edu/course-nyu/indigeneity05/

*Note: If you registered more than 48 hours ago (not including weekends!) and still don't see the course   forum listed when you go to the forums site, you can email hemi.forums@nyu.edu for assistance.

STEP 2: Register on the Course Website

Go to the course registration form at http://hemi.nyu.edu/eng/courses/registerINDIGEN.shtml (or follow the link from the course website home page).

Fill out the form, entering the user ID you created for the discussion forum where it requests your user ID. Submit the form when you have completed it, and you will shortly be able to see your profile page linked from the "Who's Who" link on the course website.
