Maicyra Leão got a degree in Performing Arts at the Universidade de Brasilia, Brazil, in 2004. In 2005, she began her Masters program at the same university, focusing her research in the uses of performance as a tool for social mobilization.

Abstract

Grassy Experiments
Using a suit made of artificial grass, the performer lies down on the grass in an area of high circulation, and then walks around the city. The performance explores the body as a generating force of alienation in the midst of urban daily activity, dealing with public and political themes.
