14-20, 2002
Following
the Hemispheric Institute Seminar in Lima (July 5-13, 2002), some participants
may choose to go on an extended trip to the Andean village of Paucartambo
to participate in the annual dance festival. This trip is optional,
and limited to 35 participants, as part of the Institute coordinated trip.
Of course, you may choose to travel to the festival on your own
following the seminar.
If
you would like to go on the Institute package trip, the fee is $500 U.S.
per person, and includes the following:
-Airfare
from Lima to Cuzco on Sunday, July 14, 2002 and return on Saturday, July
20, 2002
-Airport
transfers from the Hotel Roosevelt
to Lima Airport, from the Cuzco airport to Cuzco
hotel.
-Hotel
stay (in shared double occupancy) at the Royal
Inca II in Cuzco on Sunday, July 14; in the Royal
Inca II in Pisaq on Thursday, July 18 and in Cuzco on Friday,
July 19
-Guided
Tour of Cuzco on Monday morning, July 15, 2002
-Bus
transfer from Cuzco to the village of Paucartambo on Monday afternoon,
July 15, 2002
-Lodging
and Meals in Paucartambo for Monday, July 15; Tuesday, July 16; and Wednesday,
July 17. Lodging is rugged in a rented home. Sleeping bags
and warm trekking clothing are required. Meals will be served family
style. If you have dietary restrictions, you should provide your own food.
-Bus
transfer from Paucartambo to Pisaq on Thursday morning, July 18,
2002
-Guided
Tour in Pisaq/Sacred Valley on Thursday afternoon,
July 18,
2002
-Train
ticket and park entrance fee to Machu Pichu for Friday, July 19,
2002, and bus return to Cuzco hotel.
-Airport
transfer from hotel to Cuzco Airport on Saturday, July 20, 2002
