Mapping

i would ike to recall certain maps:

the body

the landscape

a webpage

paper maps

tide maps

constelations

my hand

its figerprints

in the video created by Eleonora Fabião and Felipe Ribeiro, presented as part of the giro environment in Lima, i noticed some of these maps.

now, i recall the images in which Eleonora appears eating the maps she previously encapsulated,

then i imagine these maps being digested inside her stomach,

the colors dissolving,

the paper being absorbed by her flesh,

changing her own color.

this embodiment,

in the most literal sense of the term,

is what i keep remembering about the video.

by eating such representations of reality,

by transforming herself into this representation,

then naturally expelling it, after digesting,

this spin, this circle,

this action,

turns her,

into

a cannibal,

a lover,

a hungry animal

a landscape,

a fingerprint,

my hand,

a constelation,

a web page.
