Julieta María

Photo/foto: Julio Pantoja

This work comments on the fragile nature of memory and how it aids in the construction of subjective history created with physical traces, fleeting images and photographs. The material is based on short interviews with members of the artist's family, who migrated from Palestine to Colombia in the early 20s.

Julieta María is a Colombian, Toronto-based new media artist. She works with video and interactive installations to explore issues of migration, memory, transcendence and personal history in a poetic way.
