Veil

Veil is a series of private actions between the artist and a viewer inside a sanctuary of white linen. Each interaction is unique and spontaneous. I seek to blur the line between religion and art by appropriating rites from my heritage. I do not reenact sacred rituals, rather, I borrow their gestures and reinvent them as my own.

Biography

Daniel Embree graduated from Brigham Young University in Utah with a BFA in 2009 and an MFA from Tufts University in connection with the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston in 2013. His work can be seen in art spaces throughout New England, including 13 Forest Gallery in Arlington, MA. He currently lives in Massachusetts with his husband.
