Fandango Mani-Fiestón

The fandango jarocho was born of the mixture of cultures in the old neo-Hispanic Caribbean. Today it crosses borders and incorporates activism and protest without losing its inclusive, fun and pagan essence through music, dance and poetry. Jarana Beat presents a fandango concert in Veracruz-New York style with musicians from Montreal’s local scene.

Biography

Jarana Beat is a world music band that incorporates dance and activism. With Afro-Amerindian Mexican sounds, it offers a new interpretation that blends the origins of Mexican music with contemporary elements and draws from other cultures in the New York scene that share the same roots.
