FEMME/ifest
Heels on Wheels will stage a multi-faceted, multi-lingual intervention at the Marché Jean-Talon open-air market. We will invite and incite the wearing of femme, feminized, feminine, fancy, dandy, fey, et al dress/costume to have and record this public “conversation” about ways femininity is publicly perceived, performed, playful, and powerful.
Biography
Heels on Wheels is a Brooklyn-based group of interdisciplinary artists who create performance-based cultural works and community events produced from sites of femme/inine-positive queer embodiment. We are multiracial, multi-generational, working-class led and committed to anti-oppression in both our art and organizing.
