Premiered in 1995, Femina Ludens, portrays the struggle of five women in a society dominated by men. Although men’s voices are never heard, Femina Ludens reveals the patriarchal ideology of Colombian society through relationships, interactions, media and popular music. This play deconstructs, questions, and re-imagines the feminine role that society has placed on women in order to expose the social and cultural factors of their oppression. Written and directed by Nohora Ayala. Created collectively by Fanny Baena, Liliana Ruiz, Gabrielle Quin, Patricia Ariza, and Adriana Cantor.
