Africali

Africali is a photographic register of afro men and women walking through the sunny city of Cali (Colombia). The pictures of the characters are cut out from their original context and appear to be floating.  These sticker images act as stencils and invite placement on the gallery walls--inhabiting a bidemensional context as a floating punctum that can moves anywhere and becomes useful for us as an instrument of memory. 

Biography

José Horacio Martínez es artista y profesor universitario, expone a nivel nacional e internacional desde 1988, Primer Premio del XXXV Salón Nacional de artistas de 1994 y premio de la pintura Colombiana de los 90, actualmente ejerce el rol de gestor cultural como director del espacio de arte contemporáneo Espacio Temporal.
