Laura Portwood-Stacer explores the everyday lifestyle practices of anarchist activists, to understand how they struggle to live utopian lives in a decidedly non-utopian context. She'll share material from her new book, Lifestyle Politics and Radical Activism, based on several years of ethnographic research among anarchists across the United States. Portwood-Stacer is Visiting Assistant Professor of Media, Culture, and Communication at NYU, where she teaches classes on social media, popular culture, and subcultural movements.
