Luis Gispert’s films often focus on the baroque narratives that emerge when immigrant cultures are forced to revaluate their own customs in light of the forced assimilation that dominant cultures always impose. His videos often fabricate realities in the way that immigrant cultures do, constructing new narratives out of the bits and pieces that survive their border-crossings.
