This documentary bears witness to the repression of the indigenous movement in Colombia by examining the events that took place when thousands of indigenous people gathered on the Resguardo La María reservation in Cauca, designated a "Territory of Peace and Coexistence," to call for a national referendum on the free trade agreement with the United States.

Biography

Mauricio Acosta is a videographer and graphic designer at the Universidad del Cauca in Colombia.  He produces and directs documentaries for Tejido de Comunicación (communication network) of the Asociación de Cabildos Indígenas del Norte (ACIN - CHXAB WALA KIWE) in the state of Cauca, Colombia and conducts community video workshops for members of the Nasa (Paez) community.
