A ten-minute movement piece that explores gender identity framed within a Puerto Rican cultural context. The piece features a character created by the actor for the collective theatre performance De Mala Muerte, directed by Israel Lugo with the company Baobabs Inc.

Biography

José (Pepe) Álvarez Colón holds a B.A. in Individualized Studies with a concentration in Dance, Theater, and Multimedia from the Universidad de Puerto Rico. In these last years he has studied and collaborated primarily with Professor Rosa Luisa Márquez and has grown as an actor and mover with the company Taller de Otra co-directed by Teresa Hernández and Viveca Vázquez. He has taught theater and dance workshops for various community programs over the last seven years
