Quieto Pelo

Quieto Pelo is a collaborative project that seeks to document the oral traditions and practices associated with hair braiding, hair care, and the political options expressed through hair styling among women of African descent in different regions of Colombia and Latin America.

Biography

Liliana Angulo graduated from the National University in Bogotá, Colombia with a specialization in sculpture. Her work explores racial identity and Afro-Colombian culture, among other themes. In 2010 she received a Fulbright Grant in Colombia to pursue an MFA at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
