In this interview, conducted by Diana Taylor, founding director of the Hemispheric Institute of Performance and Politics, Pancho López talks about his beginnings and his experience in the field of performance art in Mexico. He describes the composition of his performances, and the metaphorical suggestions that they entail. He also discusses the reactions of the audience with regards his performances in public spaces, highlighting the fact that quotidian life is more complex than any performance.

Pancho López is a Mexican performance artist interested in every day life and how it connects with performance. He works at Museo Universitario del Chopo where he organized the Performagia International Performance Art Festival, and he is also director of Eject international videoperformance art festival presented since 2006 at Ex Teresa arte Actual. He has participated in shows and performance art festivals in Colombia, Chile, Canada, Uruguay, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, China, Spain, Portugal, Cuba and the United States of America.
