Juan Mandelbaum

Through a casual Google search, director Juan Mandelbaum discovers that Patricia, a long lost girlfriend from Argentina, is among the thousands of people who were kidnapped, tortured, and then “disappeared” by the military during the 1976-1983 dictatorship. Juan embarks on a journey to find out what happened to her and others he knew who disappeared, while at the same time, re-examining his own choices.

Biography

Juan Mandelbaum is a renowned documentary producer/director, and has worked as teacher, curator ,and consultant. He is President and Creative Director of Geovision, a multicultural communications agency. Juan studied Sociology in his native Argentina, and worked as a journalist, photographer ,and educator until he left for the US in 1977 to leave behind the military dictatorship. He holds an M.A. in Communications from the Annenberg School of Communication at the University of Pennsylvania.
