This piece explores the fluid nature of polymorphous identities in an age of globalism within the context of the Asian diaspora. In Officer Tuba Meets Happy Ghost and ReOriented in São Paulo, Chun points to the ruptures and continuity of culture within the Korean diasporic communities in Sao Paulo, Brazil and Toronto, Ontario.

Biography

soJin Chun is a Toronto-based artist working in video and installation. Using a whimsical and humorous approach, her work explores local narratives examining the intersections and contradictions found in identity as a result of geographic relocation. Chun has participated in video screenings and exhibitions internationally.
