Víctimas del engaño ('Victims of Deceit') tackles the issue of Mexico's domestic migration through the story of a man from a village who decides to try his luck in the city. His wife refuses to migrate with him, so he leaves her behind and begins a new life in a challenging urban environment. He encounters corrupt people involved in fraud, but he also meets strangers who help him along the way. He eventually meets a woman and commits to her, denying the existence of his former wife. He finds comfort in his new family and even builds a successful business.
