Circus Amok’s timely "Sub-Prime Sublime" (2008), performed for free in various parks around New York, balances acrobatic danger with wild laughter, slipping its slicing, topical critique of the economic recession and housing crisis in the United States between pies in the face. The show, as with Circus Amok shows past, vaults from the long tradition of the jester or clown as social commentator and populist mouthpiece and features: Acrobatic Economists, Fantastical Free-Falling Free Markets, Tenanacious Tenants, Querelous Quarks, Neurotic Neutrons, Vaulting Villains, Stupendous Stilters, Disco Dorothy, Lions and Tigers and Zebras Oh My!
