Social Photography from El Chocó

A traveling interactive photography exhibit about the current situation in El Chocó, Colombia, the threats facing both the special cultures of the area and the important and unusual natural environment, as well as the day-to-day resistance of the people in the face of these threats.

Biography

Steve Cagan is a documentary photographer and activist. Major photographic projects include “Industrial Hostages,” documenting the effects of factory closings in Ohio in the late 70s and early 80s, and “Working Ohio,” an extended portrait of working people in this area. He also worked in Indochina in 1974, and has photographed aspects of daily life in Nicaragua, El Salvador and Cuba.
