Leaves of New Life: An Homage to Victims of Violence
Congregating around a dying tree trunk we walk sowing red petals. We touch and name parts of our bodies confirming we are still alive and can act. On small green paper leaves we write personal commitments to combat violence in the home and the world and pin them to the trunk, reviving its life and ours.
Biography
Anadel Lynton is the cofounder of Mexico’s National Center for Dance Research (1983). She teaches in its online MA, writes, creates, performs and facilitates workshops in Dancing in Community, Movement/ Expression/Communication and Movement Choruses. She works with community groups in alternative spaces using elements of popular culture and improvisation.
