Brutalité exists as a protest in the literal sense of the term. At the forefront, a banner bears a collection of anonymous images depicting wounds and bruises compiled by the artist on the Internet. They expose the result of acts of police brutality committed during the 2012 student strike.

Vincent Brière is currently completing a degree in Studio Arts at Concordia University, and lives in Montreal. His work is concerned with experiencing our limits: to acknowledge the boxes that structure the everyday and to unpack and dismantle them through performance, installation, video and sculpture.
