Freedom Bound: Performing Principles of Community Engagement

This collaboratory combines cultural organizing, devised performance, song building, and visual art to teach Roots' Principles of Community Engagement. Participants will devise performances, create visual work, and build community action plans during the session.

Alternate ROOTS is a visible champion of activist artists based in the Southern United States and provides the connective tissue for a distinct segment of the arts and culture field - artists who have a commitment to making work in, with, by, for and about their communities, and those whose cultural work strives for social justice.
