Biography

João Bosco Alves da Silva (Mestre João Angoleiro): Master of Capoeira Angola, afro Ballet dancer, Master of African dance. Founder of the Capoeira group Eu sou Angoleiro and of the Companhia Primitiva de Arte Negra. His training and education are in Capoeira de Rua (Street Capoeira) from 1975 to 1982, Angola Capoeira (Master Rogério, RJ and Master Morais, BA), Modern African Dance (Mamour-BÁ, Senegal). He directs The Cultural Association "Eu sou Angoleiro," founded in 1993 and has also acted as dancer and coreographer in the Companhia Primitiva de Arte Negra (Black Art Primitive Company) since 1989.
